As my system is 64bits,... yes, I tried that. While definitely being
much faster (CPU-wise) than on 32bits (approximately by a factor of
1.5), it still remains unusably slow. Despite that, there still exist
numerous other problems on Linux 64-bit. As an example: I either get the
cpu-speed or do I get accelerated graphics... ;-)
