Dear Friends, I have all these days been using kino to capture my video with. I have for long been using Slackware with an old version. "Kino 0.6.0" It has been very good. I never upgraded it! "if it ain't broke why fix it". Now I am trying a new installation using: Xubuntu 8.10 kino 1.3.0 which I have taken from the Ubuntu site. It works fine in my old Camera Panasonic AG-DVC62 The Panasonic AG-DVC62 I have used for the last 2 years and it has worked fine and still is. I bought 2 new cameras and Ubuntu/Kino does not work in either of them. It does not work in my camera Panasonic AG-DVX102B It does not work in my camera Panasonic MD-10000 Is there something I should do in the Setup of the camera for it to work. Kino is detecting all 3 cameras correctly under IEEE 1394 I can see the input in the capture window from the lens It will capture just ONE frame when I click on capture and save that frame and that is all. I have also bought a DataVideo SE-800 Video Mixer and hope to capture from that Does anyone of you have any experience about capturing from that ? Any instructions to help in the setup to capture using Kino via fire-wire is helpful regards Mettavihari -- Streaming video from http://dharmavahini.tv ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
