Oh, I thought he was just looking for dvgrab usage help. In that case,
I recommend starting with test-dv.c from the libiec61883 tarball.
Then, start adding features like automatic "port" (i.e. card/adapter)
selection and AV/C based on code in dvgrab. Otherwise, dvgrab is
fairly mature and contains lots of special case handling that makes
some parts unclear. Also, there is a gstreamer source element and a
ffmeg device component for firewire in addition to v4l2 if he would
rather work with a higher level framework (my recommendation if making
an app instead of a framework).
