It would take _a lot_ of work because it so heavily uses libraw1394, libavc1394, and libiec61883 which is a completely different set of APIs than what is on OS X. > All I need is -card N, read from dv cam, write to stdout. All you need, but not others. In my experience, if you make a partial or limited feature, you suddenly receive requests and bug reports to extend that to its fullest extent. As an example, you want to extend the FOSS "feature" that is dvgrab to OS X ;-) > This is so I can run DVswitch dvsource-dvgrab, which is really just: > > /* Connect to the mixer, set that as stdout, and run dvgrab. */ > int sock = create_connected_socket(mixer_host, mixer_port); > if (dup2(sock, STDOUT_FILENO) < 0) > execvp("dvgrab", dvgrab_argv); > > So whatever it takes to do that on a mac, that's what I need. Alas, there is shared interest with the Kdenlive project, of which I am a part, because Kdenlive is ported to OS X now - naturally, with some problems to work out - and it would be nice to use its dvgrab integration on OS X. However, again, I am very busy, and with limited time. So, yes, this is on my ToDo list, but not near the top. It will likely come eventually from me, but it would be great if you can recruit someone else if you want it anytime in the next year. -- +-DRD-+ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
