Kino in Debian

Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=438336 is 
preventing kino from entering squeeze.

I noticed Stefan Richter posting here -- is it really the case that kino 
can't use the new firewire stack?
