DVD Video does not have to have a menu. In fact, one might consider
menus superfluous and less convenient. Kino can directly generate an
auto-playing single-title DVD Video with chapters set for each item in
the storyboard. You can even burn within Kino if it is setup correctly
or have it launch right into Brasero or k3b for burning. Just go to
the Export > MPEG screen in Kino and press F1 to get more info or read
it here, skip to the bottom paragraph that starts "Kino comes with a
number of scripts to automate these steps."

One can produce DVDs from camcorder entirely with Kino without using
command line utilities and scripts. It is even easy to customize
mjpegtools command line options and add yuv4mpeg pipe filters like
yuvdenoise and what not.
