SD DV is 480 lines for NTSC and 576 lines for PAL regardless of the
image quality.

Kdenlive runs dvgrab as a child slave process to capture DV and unlike
Kino, it supports HDV over FireWire as well. Also, it can capture from
V4L sources and do screen recording.
