making kino less verbose

Hi,

kino produces a lot of debugging/status output. I have sometimes
the impression that all this output slows down kino, especially
if it is not diverted to /dev/null or some file.

The sources contain lots of lines

    cerr << ....

so I guess there is no way to reduce the amount of output. IMHO
there should be a configure option to disable all that output.

Would the kino developers accept a patch for such a configure
option?
