Wow, that is a DVCPRO-HD camera! That is rather high end for the Linux video editing crowd. So, you can not expect many people to be in a position to help out. This camera uses the P2 SD card system; it seems like you should be able to mount the camera as a hard drive over USB and simply copy the video files from it.
