Look Dev TD openings with Disney Animation

Disney Animation combines the very best in artistry and storytelling
with cutting-edge technology to bring wonderful new characters to the
big screen for audiences around the world.  Constantly challenged to
create innovative new technologies for animated features, theme park
productions and special projects for the Walt Disney Studios, Disney
Animation is home to some of the most talented artists working in the
film industry today.  

Disney Animation is comprised of Feature Animation, Disney Circle Seven
Animation and DisneyToon Studios, all located in Burbank and Glendale,
California.

We are actively seeking Look Development Technical Directors for current
and upcoming films.

Responsibilities: 
*Look Development TD's work as part of the Look Development team that
defines all the technical aspects needed to create the appearance of a
3-D element.
*Write custom Renderman (or equivalent) Shaders, painting, and applying
texture maps, or developing other custom software to accomplish the art
direction goals of an element or environment.
*Work with Look Painters to create final looks and materials for 3D
elements used in production.
*Support the 3D and Render Pipelines.

Requirements:
*Previous production experience or exceptional artistic skills/abilities
in CGI/traditional artwork.
*A thorough understanding of 3-D computer programs such as Maya and
Renderman required.
*Ability to write and apply shaders; specific Renderman experience is
ideal.
*Experience with 3D pipelines and production techniques.
*Scripting experience (MEL, PERL, C, C++) required.
*Strong problem solving ability
*Good creative eye
*Must be able to work in a collaborative environment, taking direction
from the Look Dev Lead, CG Supervisor and feedback from the Art Director
and Director as necessary.
*Bachelors degree in or equivalent experience desired.
