DreamWorks Animation develops and produces high quality computer generated CG) animated films. Our recent releases include Shrek 2, Sharktale, and Madagascar. SEEKING SOFTWARE ENGINEERS TO WORK IN OUR PIPELINE GROUP! Locations: Glendale & Redwood City, California (Los Angeles & San Francisco areas) Summary: DreamWorks Animation is looking for senior engineers to share responsibility for the scripting language infrastructure in the studio. This position would be responsible for the low level libraries in use by every studio tool with a component programmed in a scripting language, the vast majority of which is written in Perl. Additional responsibilities would include training and supporting programmers and artists in the studio on how to use the studio libraries in a standard and effective way, in addition to how to write clean and well structured code. Minimum Requirements: -5+ years of software development experience -Scripting expert with extensive Perl experience: consider yourself a Perl Guru -Good working knowledge of CVS, Make, and the standard Unix build tools -Good working knowledge of C and C++ -Good working knowledge of Linux or similar UNIX variant -Good troubleshooting and debugging experience -Demonstrated history of technical and project leadership -Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Requirements: -A history of library development -Good working knowledge of Python -General interest in programming language minutia Company Perks: We offer a casual, fun & collaborative work environment; free food; onsite dry-cleaning, film developing and car wash services; training and artistic development classes; discounts to movie theatres, theme parks, zoos, Hewlett Packard and Verizon wireless products; and of course movie screenings!
