Actually the Red Hat Enterprise 3 line is based off of Red Hat 9
(Gnome 2.2, NPTL as main features).

Fedora Core 1 was basically a minor update to Red Hat 9 with some
stuff being updated to be kernel 2.6 ready and an upgrade to Gnome 2.4

Fedora Core 2 (now in testing) is a bigger upgrade with the move to
kernel 2.6 (there will be no 2.4 kernel support) and GTK 2.4/Gnome 2.6
/ KDE 3.2
