Hello Sri, We are working on something similar here in Sri Lanka. Our complete outfit is Linux, with only M$ for testing. We use Kino for capture Cinelerra for editing. Final output is for broad casting on TV. But this is now not animation. We have plans in the pipeline for setting up a seperate department for animation using blender etc. This is however a very difficult task primarily becuse we do not have staff who know how to use Blender. For that we are starting a seperate class for students who has already done cources in Maya/Max. (we have several students who have applied) The process is fairly long drawn, but since we have the time on our side we expect it to be much more cost effective that using Commercial Software In the East cost of staff is not that expencive. The cost of having licences to several copies of the various softwares is far in excess of the labour cost. So much depends on where in the world you are and on how much time you have for preproduction training. My Rs.02 I would be happy to hear more from your experience. with metta Mettavihari On 3/12/07, srinivasa rao gantenapalli <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Group, > > I am planning to produce an animation/comic show for television (mainly > targeting the children).
