Walt Disney Animation Studios combines the very best in artistry and
storytelling with cutting-edge technology to bring wonderful new
characters to the big screen for audiences around the world. Constantly
challenged to create innovative new technologies for animated features,
theme park productions and special projects for the Walt Disney Company,
Disney Animation is home to some of the most talented artists working in
the film industry today.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Supervisor,
Production Software to join the team at our Burbank, CA studio. This
position will report to VP, Technology.

With a focus on compiled and interpreted computer graphics and process
automation code, the Technical Supervisor, Production Software sets the
direction of a broad area of technology. By directly managing engineers
and possibly other managers, he/she is accountable for time, budget, and
quality of solutions delivered. In addition the role is fundamental in
the shaping of technology for the future of the studio.

Keys to success in this area are the successful negotiation of competing
show demands, and ensuring sufficient resources (human, capital,
technology) to meet needs while keeping within the budget constraints of
the studio. These keys are enabled by building outstanding relationships
with productions, and by promoting dependability and group leadership.

Responsible for 20+ headcount of software developers and project
managers, this position requires prior management experience and is a
gateway to leading the technology for a show. The ideal candidate is a
developer with a desire to be highly influential in the creation of
motion pictures who has transitioned into management by using his/her
leadership skills.

Requirements:
* BS or higher in technical field
* 10+ years of industry experience
* Direct experience in developing large complex computer graphics
packages
* Experience with the schedules and rhythms of motion picture production

* 5+ years of management experience
