We have an opening in our Glendale and Redwood City, CA locations for
a Render Wrangler to join us. If you are interested, please contact me

Technical Resource Administrators (TRAs) are responsible for providing
24x7 support of the studio's rendering efforts.  TRAs monitor and load
balance the render farm, assist with hung and errored jobs and
participate in the day-to-day management of render farm hosts.  TRAs
provide rendering support for all departments and divisions,
including:  Layout, Motion, Lighting and Special Effects.    TRAs also
monitor data I/O across various filesystems and initiate data moves to
balance disk utilization.  Other responsibilities include answering
the Render Desk hotline, escalating urgent studio support issues after
hours and responding to all SupportQ calls assigned to the department.

Responsibilities:
Render Farm Management:
=95	Detect and troubleshoot stuck and failed jobs
=95	Monitor, diagnose and resolve/escalate malfunctioning farm hosts
=95	Keep the render farm running at maximum capacity
=95	Monitor filesystems for space availability
=95	Request changes in storage volume sizes as needed
=95	Identify and report trends and potential problems

Render Queue Management:
=95	Monitor the LSF render queue
=95	Maintain the rendering priorities and fair-share processor
allocations for each team
=95	Assist artists with job submissions and job errors
=95	Answer the 24x7 Render Desk Hotline
=95	Respond to all render-related SupportQ's
=95	Work with production to forecast render resource needs
=95	Make general reports for each shift

Render Pipeline Management:
=95	Update shot directories, libraries and servers
=95	Run Linux and Perl scripts to convert proprietary script files into
images, movie and video files
=95	Render, inspect and fix frames for one or more productions
=95	Deliver movie files to producers, directors and animators for
dailies and film out

Studio Support:
=95	Monitor studio infrastructure servers and escalate problems
=95	Answer and escalate Studio Help Desk calls after hours and on weekends
=95	After hours and weekend VSC support
Requirements:
=95	One year of Linux, Shell scripting and basic systems administration exp=
erience
=95	Good verbal and writing skills, good organizational skills
=95	Able to handle a fast paced, occasionally high pressure environment
=95	Can work well with a group or independently
=95	Able to work very flexible hours on weekend evenings or nights
