Re: Sound playback for lipsync

If all you're interested in is sound and video, you may want to have a look at this (particularly with regard to sound).

They describe it as "a collection of rpms that you can add to a computer running RedHat 7.3, 8.0, 9 or Fedora Core 1 to transform it into an audio workstation with a low-latency kernel, current ALSA audio drivers and a nice set of music, midi, audio and video applications."

I haven't done this yet, because I haven't had the time or will to do it (I'd have to shuffle around some data and hardware on my existing systems), but it's a very exiting idea.  It'd be nice if they'd take it one step further and just build a distro around it.
