I copy the MCF lists and the UCI founder Alex Stewart, as they are obviously
invited also, at least this is how i understand things.

It thought about copying Ingo Ralf Blum also, i hope he reads this somehow.
After all, when we were looking briefly at using Ogg or not for the
multimedia container we wanted to make, IIRC from the time about 2 years
ago, it was Ingo with his excellent knowledge about video encoding who was
giving us the best and most founded input why Ogg, n.b. the way it was
described and documented that time ( things have changed a lot since then ),
should not be used but maybe another container, better suited for video
encoding needs, should be created. Another important aspect was that Xiph
people, by that time at least, were not showing any specific interest in
supporting video encoding in general and also Windows as a platform.

Its maybe too early to start a kind of direct comparison between Ogg and our
containers, as neither matroska nor MCF have become reality yet. We could
simply ignore Emmett's invitation to stop working on matroska and help to
improve Ogg instead. Give me your opinion guys, but do it publically to the
2 MLs and not to me private please ... on my HDD you're opinion is welcome,
but not of much use.
