Also, there is no statistics retrieval from the codec. I thin it should 
be added.

For handling timecode on Transors I use something like this :
class CodecBuffer {
     public:
       binary *buffer;
       uint32 bufferSize;
       uint64 timestamp; ///< in microseconds
       uint64 duration;  ///< of the data stored in the buffer
       CodecFormat & format;
  };
