Actually, I hadn't realized that Steve had posted his initial questions to the
MCF list as well, or I would have posted my answers there too..

For anyone who is interested who came into the UCI maillist too late to see the
answers to these questions I posted on the UCI list earlier, you can find them

(on a related note, I'm coming to the distinct conclusion that the archiving
services provided by sourceforge for maillists are pretty crappy.. I can't find
several UCI posts I know have gone out to the list in the archives..  I think
I'm gonna start emphasizing gmane.org as the place to go for list archives if
nobody objects..)

I would also agree that this discussion should be kept to one list, and the UCI
list seems the appropriate place.. I have a couple of comments on the rest of
Andrew's message which I'll be posting only there.
