AFAIK, the drivers are in the Kernel (maybe not the Xfree ones) unlike micro kernel architectures. And Linux IS the kernel. So the bugs are there, not in other apps. You can't blame the manufacturer for a poorly developped driver. Linux is not a supported system, that's what make it usable only by a few people.
