I've now tried the LLVM driver, and see the same assertions, so this must not be in driver-specific code. Sorry to cast aspersions on the softpipe driver.

I will post a bug for the memory assertion to freedesktop.org.

Subject: [Mesa-users] Gallium Softpipe driver reporting "st_translate_mesa_program: freeing bad or corrupted memory"

Using Mesa 9.0.2 compiled for Windows x86 (via scons / mingw). The debug build of 'libgl-gdi' reports the following:

src\mesa\state_tracker\st_mesa_to_tgsi.c:1256:st_translate_mesa_program: freeing bad or corrupted memory 0x6f1a89a8
src\gallium\auxiliary\util\u_debug_memory.c:160:debug_free: Assertion `0' failed.

Does Mesa 9.1 contain updates to the softpipe driver? (Who is maintaining this driver, VMware?)

Thanks,

-Keith
