Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller and OpenGL-2.0

Hi, 

I have a machine with an Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller, and just set up a Debian Wheezy system on it.  

The x server is using OpenGL-1.4 because as I understand it, this graphic controller lacks hardware support for OpenGL-2.0+.  

I see that the x server is using the  Mesa DRI Intel(R) 915G driver, and have read about some work being done to write a similar driver that has OpenGL-2.0 support through software emulation.

My question is:  Will this new OpenGL-2.0/2.1 compatable driver work for my 910GL gpu?
