Mesa 17.2-rc4 - SuperTuxKart won't launch

Ubuntu 17.10 just got Mesa 17.2-rc4 in the archives.  Now STK (git 
version, self-compiled) won't launch, and errors.  This did not happen 
with Mesa 17.1.x.  The error:
