FIrst time I've ever heard of any bothering to enable that option.

Does it make encoding run faster or something?

However it breaks building if the --as-needed is not specified.

At least on my OS/X system the error, which didn't happen before,
	appears:

gcc -dynamiclib -flat_namespace -undefined suppress -o .libs/liblavplay-1.9.0.dylib .libs/liblavplay_la-liblavplay.o .libs/liblavplay_la-audiolib.o /usr/lib/libm.dylib /usr/local/src/mjpeg-developer/utils/.libs/libmjpegutils-1.9.0.1.1.dylib /usr/local/src/mjpeg-developer/mpeg2enc/.libs/libmpeg2encpp-1.9.0.1.1.dylib /usr/local/lib/libdv.4.0.3.dylib /usr/local/lib/libjpeg.dylib /usr/lib/libdl.dylib /usr/lib/libz.dylib /usr/lib/libiconv.dylib /usr/local/lib/libquicktime.0.0.0.dylib -L/usr/local/lib /usr/local/src/mjpeg-developer/lavtools/.libs/liblavfile-1.9.0.1.1.dylib -lSDLmain /usr/local/lib/libSDL.dylib /usr/local/src/mjpeg-developer/lavtools/.libs/.libs/liblavjpeg-1.9.0.1.1.dylib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 -lm -mtune=G5 -mpowerpc64 -mpowerpc-gpopt -mtune=G5 -maltivec -Wl,-framework -Wl,Cocoa -Wl,-framework -Wl,OpenGL -install_name /usr/local/lib/liblavplay-1.9.0.dylib -compatibility_ve

powerpc-apple-darwin8-gcc-4.0.0: /usr/local/src/mjpeg-developer/lavtools/.libs/.libs/liblavjpeg-1.9.0.1.1.dylib: No such file or directory

So for now that patch need to stay out.

	Cheers,
	Steven Schultz
