Hi Steven,

Oh, I can recall clearly how this time was... My daugther was so sweet,
from the first day on! And when she opened her eyes, first time looking
at me, I was done... I could have (and most probably will have...)
cried... This was one of the most exciting and strongest feelings I ever
had.

I think, my daughter has reached this stage, now. She is 15 months and
interested in *everything*: Walking, talking(active word count is 30+
and exploding), examinating... esp. examinating how people react on her
technical examinations. She is moving fast, now, too... and if she
happens to be too silent... You know, there is some sort of special
"silence"... well, it is not realy silence as silence usualy is, its
just the absence of the usual noise-floor...
... oh-oh...

(I most probably need to put my hardware and the hi-fi/video-stuff out
of her reach, too).

This is a good idea! I need to test, if this helps me, too...

But I bet it will not last for long and then she will be sitting in
front of my computer, again having it shut down faster than I could do
anything about it... She gets better in that every day ... :-)

just BTW: There is something very, very strange with the brains of
parents... The initial impulse in the brain if something like this
happens, comes from some very, very ancient area of the brain and very
aggressivly translates into something like this:

*#!!XYZ!ยก#*MURDER*KILL*EXTINCT*BEVIOLENTINSOMEWAY*

Ok, never had that? So just think, for a second, your neighbor would
have done this? The work of a complete day ruined... Yes, *this* is the
message comming from that area...

A silent wink of time later (less than a clock-cycle for a 6502)...

The child looks up, says something like "Pa-pa, dada" looking (but not
being so much) innocently in your face and abruptly every axon in your
brain is melting, fireing only one silly message: "Get her a hammer, a
screwdriver, some spinach and ketchup and *DAMNTHING* help her to
exterminate that shabby high-end electronic what-ever-it-is..." :-)

cu
Stefan
