AVI to JPEG, Huffman informations missing?

Hello,

i try to convert an AVI to single JPEGs.  I do this with an own script
in Python, that i develop at the moment.
It all works fine, i can go through the single chunks in the AVI and
extract all informations, i can also extract the single frames for
WAV and for JPEG.
But the JPEG in the AVI don't seem to contain valid huffman tables, there
is no segment FF C4 as in normal JPEG files.

I wonder now where to get the necessary information when converting an
AVI to a sequence of JPEG files.  Are the missing information in the AVI
stream header or the AVI main header?  Are they in the chunk "strd"?
