So is that more or less a updated patch for the problem you fixed 2
years ago ? At that time for kernel 2.6.24

I did download the 2.6.38.7 linux kernel from kernel.org and built it.
The patch did apply without any problems.

But I have problems getting the driver working. I do not get a
/dev/video0 device. The DC-30 is detected in some way but refuses to
work. I hope that you can give me a hint how to accomplish that.

I did load the modules manually:
zr36067 76446 0
zr36050 8055 0
zr36016 4775 0
videocodec 6286 3 zr36067,zr36050,zr36016
adv7175 4573 0
vpx3220 7271 0
v4l2_common 11391 3 zr36067,adv7175,vpx3220
videodev 75998 4 zr36067,adv7175,vpx3220,v4l2_common
i2c_dev 7823 0
i2c_algo_bit 5641 2 zr36067,radeon

But when loading the zr36067 modules I find that in /var/log/messages
[ 2576.120748] Linux video capture interface: v2.00
[ 2635.218934] Linux video codec intermediate layer: v0.2

xawtv fail afterwards as expected:

This is xawtv-3.95, running on Linux/x86_64 (2.6.38.7-0.5-desktop)
xinerama 0: 1600x1200+0+0
can't open /dev/video0: No such file or directory
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway
v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such file or directory
v4l: open /dev/video0: No such file or directory
no video grabber device available

Do you have any idea what kind of problem I run into ?
I can also put the Iomega Buz into the computer and to a test run.

That is right.

I don't know of any other tool to record from a zoran based car. A patch
for lavrec would be really great.

auf hoffentlich bald,
