I didn't check who was faster you or Steven M. Schultz.
But Steven kicked out the cpuinfo.sh script.
You finde it in the mjpeg-cvs mailinglist.

If you think that the cpuinfo script should come back because the 
optimization help more than Steven did find out we can bring it back and 
integrate your patch.
