Growing A Video Business: The hard part is over - the hard part has just
begun. Telecoms operators have upgraded their networks, built their IPTV
platforms, fought for their regulatory status, taken their concept to market
and started to acquire customers. Now they have to show that they can scale
cost-effectively, compete on price and service, introduce innovative
services quickly, and ultimately differentiate themselves from cable and
satellite (and telco) rivals. IPTV services have to make money - or at the
very least make telecoms a better overall business proposition than before.

Making IPTV Different: Vendors building IPTV platforms and networks have
always marketed the concept of video-over-IP as something unique and better.
Until recently it was hard to see how IP-delivered video services were
really so different to cable or satellite, and telcos themselves have had to
be careful to sell people what they already understand. But the evidence is
mounting that IPTV can give consumers something that is unique, and that the
service concepts will  resonate in the mass-market. Day Two highlights the
