Dear MPEGIF News Readers,

 

We decided to give our MPEGIF Digest a bit of a new look to, hopefully
provide you with a better experience following the news and information of
our industry.

 

There has been a lot of MPEG-4-related news since the start of the year,
most of it AVC-related, but also a fair bit on AAC and "MPEG-4 Classic",
which is very encouraging. There is a massive build-up for NAB next month
and a lot of new deployments and new products will certainly be announced
and unveiled there.

 

MPEGIF is gearing up for NAB - most notably, with ISMA we are presenting a
full day special session called "The Video Ecosystem" on Sunday, 17 April
2005, as part of the NAB MultiMedia World Conference. A great line-up of
keynotes and other panel sessions with senior level speakers from major
companies will look at the impact of next-generation multimedia multimedia
technologies; AVC in particular.

 

Major stars of NAB this year will undoubtedly be the various AVC products
and services on display, both SD or HD. If you are visiting, please make
sure to visit the AVC Alliance (booth SL4101) and the MPEG Pavillion (booth
SL5310).
