Does MinGW tutorial still applies for compiling the current release (r2)?

Following along the list archieves, I had exactly the same question 
asked in

. Following along the discussion, found the tutorial

My question:

Is this tutorial still applies for compiling the latest release version 
(0.r2)? Is there any changes I need to consider from this howto??
