I hope there is no misunderstanding here. I merely wanted to signal that 
I am not in favor of applying a patch to configure, which would enable
compiling against a live555 version more than 3 years old.

Thanks for the hint.

Personally I do not have time for this currently, but if anyone comes
up with a patch I would have a look at it and apply if I find no problems.
