On the one hand, we'd get the benefits of legal defense of the code. But on the other hand, some people might get pissed off if the FSF wants to be picky about GPL headers in files, etc., and maybe they would even say the patent-infringing code or binary-loader code in MPlayer is not GPL-compatible and thus we can't distribute MPlayer with this stuff. :) So, IMO it would require careful consideration and dialogue and negotiation with the FSF before we decided whether or not to make such a move. Sometimes the defense of the law isn't worth playing by its rules, and then anarchy is preferable. :) Rich
