Here are some results: xvid videos: tried -speed and -nosound settings with and without vf results: still flicking, some xvids do not need -vf expand to play but some do (because mpegpes card is compatible with only certain resolutions) mpeg2/pva: pva video tested with -vf expand setting on or off when -vf expand is specified the video is flickering b&w when -vf expand is not specified the video plays without flickering The thing of importance that I notice is that xvids complain in console that it "could not find matching colorspace" and the pva files complain of the same issue only when -vf expand is used which makes them flicker (otherwise they play normally without that setting). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- console output for pva file without -vf expand (plays without flicking): PVA file format detected.
