Hmm, after a reboot xv works again. But I notice stuttering of video 
when in dvb mode with cvs mplayer. mplayer 1.0pre2 is smooth. It seems 
your newly desgined cache is too small. Furthermore switching channels 
works with cvs version, but is rather slow.
