CPU load with -vo mpegpes and -ao oss or similar

Hello,

I try to use a Technotrend V1.6 DVB-Card.

mplayer -quiet -vo mpegpes -ao mpegpes ... is working fine.
About 50% CPU load on my Athlon XP 2400 when player a divx-File.

But:
mplayer -quiet -vo mpegpes -ao oss ... uses 100% CPU and the video is
very bad.
Only about 1 frame per second. Same with -ao alsa9 and with -ao null

-nosound work ok. (no sound of course :-) )

What could be the reason for this? Recoding sound should not be that
expensive!?
I want to use this way of audio output because my sound card has got a
digital cable
to my ampifier - but my DVB card does not have a digital output. At the
moment I
am not able to use this DVB card :-(

BTW. xosview shows most of the used CPU time as "SYS" (red bar) when
using -ao oss/alsa9/null.

If it helps, below is my mplayer output.

Any help is apreciated.

Dirk
