video noise

all,

i'm having flickerling lines on the right portion of
videos using mplayer thru mga_vid.  it appears on different
formats.  any ideas what is causing this?  and how to
fix?

i don't have the problem using a different video output
(eg, vo=x11 or vo=xv).
