I don't know whether the G400 has the same problem or not. It could be.
At the time when i wrote that check, i could only test it with a G550
and had no way to check how the G450/G400 behaved. If this works fine
for you, then it's ok. As for the G400/G450 check, mga_vid does not
distinguish between the two and i don't know from the top of my head
whether there is an easy check for this. But those two are not that
different as far as i know. So this should be ok.

Reimar: could you commit that patch to the mga_vid repo?
