Hello Reimar et al., Thank you for your reply. The truth is that I’m using a pre-compiled MPlayer distribution from the MacPorts collection. I ran MPlayer in verbose mode (-msglevel all=6) on an mp3 file. Please find it’s output attached in a log file. I believe there is a hint in the following message: AO: [coreaudio] Unable to initialize Output Unit component: [D]. But I don’t fully understand, what does it mean and how to debug it further. Please see another text file attached called “variants.txt”. It lists all available pre-compiled variants of the MPlayer available from the MacPorts collection. I will try to install the SDL variant and see if it changes anything. Thank you for your help! — Best wishes, Maxim Maxim Abalenkov \\ [email protected] +44 7 486 486 505 \\ http://mabalenk.gitlab.io > On 31 Dec 2020, at 03:22, Reimar Döffinger <[email protected]> wrote: > > On 30 December 2020 15:08:49 CET, Maxim Abalenkov <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Opening audio decoder: [ffmpeg] FFmpeg/libavcodec audio decoders >> AUDIO: 44100 Hz, 2 ch, s16le, 1033.5 kbit/73.23% (ratio: >> 129183->176400) >> Selected audio codec: [ffflac] afm: ffmpeg (FFmpeg FLAC audio) >> >> AO: [coreaudio] Unable to initialize Output Unit component: [D] >> AO: [openal] 44100Hz 2ch s16le (2 bytes per sample) >> Video: no video > > Any chance you know /can check if coreaudio failed before and openal was used? > If you compile with e.g. support for SDL that could also avoid OpenAL. > > _______________________________________________ > MPlayer-users mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.mplayerhq.hu/mailman/listinfo/mplayer-users _______________________________________________ MPlayer-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mplayerhq.hu/mailman/listinfo/mplayer-users
