i saw it.

no. we do not need mirror. it's even impossible to mirror
the 'live' services, like cvs, maillists, ftp uploads etc.
(ok it can be done somehow, but the goal was not duplicating
the current server but moving it to more reliable network)

we wanted to find server hosting, ie a place where we can put
the mphq server machine down and connect to fast network.

mirroring ftp/http is totally different thing.
actually we have enough mirrors to handle the traffic,
mphq is on 100mbit, hun2 mirror on 34mbit (afaik soon 100mbit too),
a fast usa mirror and Koth's not yet used ftp-only mirror.
anyway we expect from mirrors, that:
- provide the same URL as on the main servers (so
  ftp4.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/... link could work)
- provie webalizer stats, or read access to the xferlog
- provide a way to trigger immediate update (by mail to a
  given address or whatever)

but imho we have enough official mirrors (and too much
unofficial ones) already.
