Errm.. the task I have in mind for libdvdread is to drive a DVD resource extractor, I know it's been done before but this one has some quite specific requirements. Firstly, I'd like it to (eventually) cope with all the resources on the DVD - subpictures and so on, as well as just the basic movie/soundtrack side of things. In addition it needs to keep track of the address maps and title/chapter/cell structure of the disc, outputting this to a separate file in a format which can then be used to preserve these references over a re-encoding of the media data.
