Bjorn will kno more about this, but I'll try to answer.  We use the
new wm fullscreen state if the window manager supports that, it can be
disabled if broken by a configure option.  Beyond that we'll need more
feedback to know what to do about this, could you test the proposed
release version on an affected system?
