I can't answer, but what I do myself is to use MPlayer to play interlaced
DVDs. It's clearly not as easy to use as ogle, but the included libpostproc
does a really good job. Just use "-vop pp=lb -dvd 1" in 0.90 or "-vf pp=lb
dvd://1" for the CVS version to play the first chapter deinterlaced.

I think one of the most tricky things about interlaced streams is to have
them be autodetected, which would be the most user-friendly.
