unable to set brightness

Hi,

Enviroment: the (g)xvattr from CVS, Xv 2.2 (RH9), NVIDIA 1.0-5336 drivers
            from Nvidia site, KDE 3.2.1.

Problem: unable to set needed brightness with (g)xvattr. gxvattr shows an
         empty tab with "NV05 Video Blitter" title. xvinfo says "no port
         attributes defined"

Must I supply additional info?
