It looks good.  So I guess this is some kernel/hw error.

We have just gotten another bug report regarding this exact movie and
an LG drive.  

You're problems should be solved, as his where, if you switch to using
ide-scsi for the drive.  Don't forget to change the /dev/dvd link.
