trouble with alsa dependencies and errors

Running Mandrake 8.2, with alsa 0.9.6 compiled from source.

Attempting install ogle-0.9.1 from rpm's or srpm's gives following error

I've come across this problem before where the rpm dependency checking 
ignores non rpm installed libs. Someone gave me a workaround so that rpm 
would recognize the libs, without having to use the --nodeps switch. Any 
suggestions as I can't find this anywhere in my archives.

In the meantime, I did the --nodeps install. I start up ogle, and the, select 
file > open disc, the root menu for the disc comes up, audio plays in 
background, however as soon as I move the cursor over the video window, ogle 
closes with an:

ipc_rmid

message as the last item in the terminal window

I edited the oglerc to enable spdif out, not sure if that was really 
necessary as I already have all audio going out through the spdif on the 
digital io card for my sblive 5.1.
