So which libdvdread is used, the one in /usr or the one in /usr/local?
I suggest you remove the installation in /usr/local together with
any header files there for libdvdread, and try again.

Yes but they seem to change with different versions of alsa also.
I don't have any list but if people report the working
settings I could put up a list on the webpage.
