Hi, Have you tried adding 'Option "CloneDisplay" 3' to the device section of your XF86Config file? This worked for me on my Thinkpad T30 to send the video to the external display. However, I'm not sure if this will work if you're using both LCD and external at the same time. See radeon(4) for more info.
