System freeze when accessing DVD with DMA active (was: Kernel Options Affect Ogle?)

OOPS, that /might/ be the solution to my never-ending problems here:
My system (dual athlon 1GHz, 1GB RAM, DVD-reader/CD-writer combo
drive) uses to freeze both unter SuSE 8.2 and 9.0 after max. 10
minutes of nicely playing DVDs using ogle: but only if I have DMA
active.

I tried all different DMA modes but it made no difference.

Besides from that ogle is absolutely great and I love the navigation
feature: we are using it in the TV computer in the living room which
replaced the old TV set we had before. :-)
