Well it likely is not a libdvdcss issue.  I'm running these versions:

kw@behemoth[1]:~$ rpm -q libdvdcss libdvdread ogle{,_gui} 
libdvdcss-1.2.8-2
libdvdread-0.9.4-2
ogle-0.9.2-1
ogle_gui-0.9.2-1

And I've been able to watch the Animatrix DVD just fine so far.  I'm
pretty sure they problem you're having lies strictly in your video
setup, i.e. lacking video ram, XV extensions, or the driver is crappy.

Did you try changing video modes (to a lower resolution and/or color
depth) to see if the DVD plays?
